Department of Philosophy Professor Emeritus John Granrose passed away peacefully on November 24, 2023 at his home in Yorkshire, England at the age of 83. Dr. Granrose taught Philosophy at UGA for 27 years until his retirement in 1993. He was a visiting professor at Keele University in England and the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg in Germany, as well as an avid musician and accomplished magician. After retirement, Granrose graduated from the C.G. Jung Institute Zurich and had a private practice, returning to the Jung Institute as Director of Studies in 1998. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathleen Rodriguez Thorne and is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer (Iliffe), daughter Karen (Bruce) Friend of Roswell, GA, son Jonathan (Krista) Granrose of Raleigh, NC, former wife and mother of his children, Cherlyn (Skromme) Granrose, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
