Undergraduate Scholarship Award Winners Announced

The Department of Philosophy is excited to announce the 2023 undergraduate scholarship and award winners. Congratulations to Ralph Liu, Kayleigh McCrystal, Joshua Track, and Emmalyne Zant:

The Blackstone Scholarship

Kayleigh McCrystal

KayleighMcCrystalKayleigh McCrystal is a Philosophy major who will be pursuing her Philosophy MA as a UGA Double Dawg. She carries a double minor in  Law, Ethics, & Philosophy and Law, Jurisprudence, & State. She intends to publish her thesis on Classic gender theory, including Aristotle’s Politics and then pursue law school.

 

 

 

 

 

The Richard H. Severens Scholarship

Emmalyne Zant

Emmalyne ZantEmmalyne Zant is majoring in Philosophy and Political Science and double minoring in Criminal Justice & International Affairs, and Law, Jurisprudence, & the State. She is particularly interested in studying constitutional law and the philosophy of law and plans to attend law school in the future. 

 

 

 

The Frank Harrison III Scholarship

Joshua Track

Joshua TrakJoshua Track is majoring in Philosophy and Political Science and double minoring in Law, Jurisprudence, & the State and International Affairs. He is on the pre-law track, but also considering a JD/PHD dual degree. He plans to pursue further research in philosophy as he completes his undergraduate degree. 

 

 

 

 

The Horace B. Russell Prize

Ralph Liu

Ralph LiuRalph Liu is a biology major and sociology minor with plans to pursue medical school after graduation. His interests include typewriting (the machine in the picture is an IBM Selectric II from 1973) and writing stories and fables in general. He enjoys pondering about the humanities, and really enjoys doing philosophy.
