New Course Announced: PHIL 2700-Philosophical Approaches to Multiculturalism

The Department of Philosophy announces the approval of PHIL 2700, Philosophical Approaches to Multiculturalism, for enrollment in Spring 2021. Developed by Assistant Professor Rohan Sikri, this class meets the Franklin College Multicultural requirement

“This course offers students the opportunity to learn about the discourse on multiculturalism (in particular, about its iterations in the United States), explore tensions and problems encountered in multicultural spaces, and re-examine some recent social movements, cultural debates, and political narratives in the US that have foregrounded the challenges inherent to the project of a multicultural society,” says Sikri of the course.

 "I'm really excited about this newand cutting-edgecourse that Dr. Sikri developed,” adds Department Head Aaron Mekin. “Not only does it meet Franklin's multicultural curriculum requirement, it looks like it will be great—I wish I could take it!"
